COVID-19 Safety Precautions

We have taken many new measures to ensure everyone’s safety. We have always strictly adhered to guidelines set by the American Dental Association and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Proper social distancing and safety in common areas:

  • All patients must complete an attestation of health form prior to coming in.
  • There will be a temperature screening upon entry. You can relax knowing that everyone in our waiting room has been temperature checked.
  • Everyone must wear a face covering at the office.
  • Only 1 guardian is allowed to be with a child.
  • Adult patients must come alone.
  • Our common areas, waiting rooms, hallways, and bathrooms are wiped down with disinfectant a minimum of 4 times a day.

Clinical Safety Protocol

  • Our clinical team are fully equipped with surgical masks, face shields, and isolation gowns in order to best care for you.
  • 3 Extraoral suction units are now available with medical grade filtration to used for high aerosol procedures.
  • You can be assured that we take our patient’s care and safety very seriously. We are grateful for your continued support and would like to assure you that we will always make every effort to look after your well-being.

Whole office clean with HEPA filtration add-on to our HVAC system

  • Our whole office HEPA filtration add- on to our HVAC until has filtration and air circulation technology that removes 99.999% of airborne contaminants and maintains an environment at the level of hospital operating rooms and industrial clean rooms.
  • Whole office cleaning and disinfection
  • Our office is cleaned and disinfected from floor to ceiling once a week including all vents, light fixtures, and ceiling tiles.
  • Our entire office is disinfected with an electrostatically charged mist onto all surfaces and objects from floor to ceiling once a week.

Safety and cleanliness in the clinical areas:

  • Only patients are allowed into the treatment areas (with the exception of small children)
  • We will mainly be using our private rooms and walled operatories for all procedures. Sometimes, the 1 chair is used in the open ortho bay area. This chair is over 12 feet away from any other chair. All patients will be appropriately distanced.
  • Time has been scheduled in between appointments so that our operatories can be thoroughly disinfected after each patient. All surfaces are cleaned- for example the chair, sinks, tables, tray table and light arms. Disinfectant used in clinical areas has always been medical/ hospital grade- which is tested to work against viruses such as HIV and HepB and bacteria including antibiotic resistant bacteria.
  • All of our dental tools and instruments are ultrasonically sanitized and then steam sterilized in an autoclave after each use – this is something we have always done.
  • Our handpieces (motorized drills) go through an additional cleaning, maintenance and filtration system – Midwest Automate Handpiece Maintenance System- before sterilization.
Additional high speed suction has been added to every operatory to control aerosol.
  • Our vacuum suction lines continue to be regularly flushed and cleaned with a special cleaner containing an organic bleach. (called Vac Attak)
  • All the water used in the dental office is filtered. Additionally all the dental operatory water lines are regularly “shocked”/ cleaned.
  • We have dedicated maintenance and sterilization team members to focus on maintaining our high sterilization standards.
