Meet Dr. Mythilee Kugathasan
Dr. Mythilee Kugathasan, originally from Atlanta, Georgia, received her Bachelor of Science degree from Emory University before extending her studies with a Masters of Science degree. She then completed her Doctorate of Dental Medicine degree from the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, graduating in the top 3% of her class.
While obtaining her dental degree, she was selected as a Deans Research Honors Fellow, winning the prestigious Earle P. Charlton competition and presenting her research at multiple international conferences. She was elected for membership into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society for academic excellence, and the Robert R. Andrews Honors Society for her contributions to the field of dental research.
After dental school, Dr. Kugathasan furthered her expertise in the craniofacial field by pursuing three additional years of specialty training, completing her residency in Orthodontics at Columbia University.
During her time at Columbia, she was awarded the Dr. Cangialosi American Board Scholarship, awarded to the resident with the best clinical outcomes and orthodontic board cases.
Dr. Kugathasan is devoted to quality, comprehensive orthodontic care with a focus on personalized treatment tailored to every patient’s individualized needs. She is well-versed on multiple treatment modalities, and considers the effects of teeth on lips, face, and profile as she optimizes a smile perfect for each patient.
When away from the dental chair, Dr. Kugathasan loves traveling, baking sweet treats, running in Central Park, and finding the best coffee spots in New York City!
