What are attachments during your clear aligner treatment?
Attachments are small tooth colored bumps placed on the teeth surfaces, using dental composites. They are bonded on precise areas on the tooth.
Attachments are tooth colored and barely noticeable at all. A typical attachment procedure is quite quick and painless – at the end of your treatment when it’s no longer needed, we will remove all of the attachments.
Are they necessary?
Since your teeth surfaces are flat, in order to move them in a certain direction more effectively, we would need to use the attachments as added leverage and torque. Attachment allows the aligners to grip the teeth as they guide the teeth toward their new positions.
In this video, we demonstrate the process of bonding the attachment onto your teeth.
