What to Expect During Your Child Braces's Experience?
- Your child will have some occasional discomfort.
- Their teeth are moving and their bite will be adjusting over the course of the next few months.
- We will schedule your office visits at regular intervals from 4 to 12 weeks apart for adjustments to your braces.
- Dental hygiene is important during treatment. Please make sure your child brush and floss properly.
First Day of Getting Braces
On the first day, regardless if your child reports no discomfort, give them softer food options such as soup, mac and cheese etc. Drink water, have them brush their teeth gently, and go to sleep early. Be aware that certain snacks purchased may damage braces. Brushing every night before bedtime is habitual. Please make sure your child is following the instructions given to taking care of his/her braces.
